Caudalie Overnight Detox Oil

Hello!

Sometimes I use things up before I review them so I can give more insightful comments on a product....not.... I just haven't blogged for so long that I happen to have come to the end of this product.

This is a facial oil. It's from Caudalie and it's quite nice. I haven't used any other facial oils like this so I can't really compare, but having used it all up, I have quite a bit to say about it. Firstly, this is quite expensive considering I don't think it made a drastic difference to my skin. I used it all up because I didn't want to waste it, but I probably wouldn't purchase it again.

This facial oil is targeted at women who are 30+ years (that's what it says on the Caudalie website anyway- click here to check it out). The main things this oil is supposed to do is detoxify and renew. To be honest, I noticed neither, however that may be because it wasn't made for the skin of those in their early 20s. I'm not sure how to break this down, so I'll bullet-point:
  • Application: although it's an oil, my face never felt greasy after I applied it. It was absorbed pretty quickly...so quickly that I sometimes thought that my fingers absorbed most of the product before it reached my face. It's almost like a dry oil... if that makes sense, so it disappears almost instantaneously.
  • Smell: very herbal and almost medicine-y. I didn't mind it but other people (my sisters) thought it smelled weird and weren't so keen on  the scent.
  • Packaging: there's something quite novel about using a pipette, so I enjoyed that aspect of it. Although, I did drop the pipette (thank goodness this only happened when I finished all the product) and it broke. So be careful, because then you'll have to resort to pouring the oil out! Also... when you get nearer to the bottom of the bottle, you really need to tilt the bottle around for the pipette to pick up any product. Another reason why I resorted to simply pouring the oil out as a reached the bottom.
  • Results: again, maybe because this is not directed for my skin type, I maybe didn't see the full benefits of the product. It was okay- for me personally, it didn't make my skin feel any more hydrated or renewed than it already was. I'm also not convinced that any detoxifying took place.
In conclusion, this product was not for me. However, it's not to say that it won't work wonders for others. Don't knock something before you've tried- afterall, everyone's skin types are different and what may not work for me may be great for you!
